Real live sand dollar

We went to the beach this weekend and I found a real live sand dollar. And I knew it was real because the little hairs were moving. And Mommy looked on her phone and it was a real animal that was alive so I put it back in the water. Iz was so cool. 

First day of school

Going to school is hard because I don't want to go. I don't like to stay there but it's fun later. 

On the first day, we read two books about going to school. One was about a little boy who didn't know how to act at school so his teacher had to help him learn. He drew all over the tables and had to clean them all up. 

I listen to my teachers and do my work.

Mama, this baby thing we're doing... You're starting to look funny! 

Priča za laku noć

Mommy, tell me a story. About a boy and a girl sleeping with their Mom and Dad. 

Bili jednom dječak i djevojčica, brat i sestrica... What were their names? Ivica i Marica. No, you always say those kind of names. Kako bi ti da se zovu - Marko i Tihana? How about Night and Star, Mommy? Because night is in the middle of stars and the star is in the middle of night.

Weekend with Mommy

On Saturday, we went to a place to learn how to make baskets. Ms. Henrietta Snype showed us how to make baskets. I want to make baskets but I don't want to get the sweetgrass from the pond [a.k.a. marsh] because there are crocodiles. Ms. Henrietta showed us how to make a starter out od pine straw. She gave me the starter because I was the youngest person. 

We also saw "Alice in Wonderland" ballet. It was good. It was a little long. The persons who danced didn't talk at all. Even Alice didn't speak. 

Today I went to Martina's house. I like going to Martina and Jacob's house without Mommy and Daddy. I brought a lot of stuff to play, and we played cards and the "Frozen" book and the "Frozen" stickers. Mommy and I went to the park and we saw Nyla with her Mom and Dad. Nyla and I picked up all the feathers from the park.

On childrearing

Kai: When I grow up, I'm gonna have a son. And I'm going to be an engineer. And I'll have my son with me all the time so that he can learn how to make all the things and stuff. Mom: Oh, so you'll take him to the office with you? Kai (disgustedly): I'm not gonna go to an office to work! He'll stay at home with me! And I'm not gonna have a wife like you, mommy. It will be just the two of us. Mom: Oh, cool. Who will carry and deliver the baby for you? And nurse him when he's little and hungry? Kai: Ok, I change my mind, we'll have a mommy. Every little boy needs a mommy. Mom: Now, will she have to go to the office to work? Kai: We'll see. I'm sure I will give her milk and she will give the baby, my son, milk.

Mama je danas pravila palačinke za doručak. Ja volim palačinke. Mama je pravila palačinke so that we don't eat oatmeal every day. They were yummy in my tummy. (photos by Kai)
